Digital Virgo continues to expand across Asia, with services now live through three new operator connections: Maxis in Malaysia, Viettel in Vietnam and Robi in Bangladesh. These launches extend our regional reach, helping telecom operators offer new digital services to their subscribers and enabling digital services providers to expand into new markets.
New Telecom Connections: Expanding Our Footprint Across Asia
Maxis: Consolidating Our Presence in Malaysia
We have launched Gameasy with Maxis, one of Malaysia’s leading telecom operators, strengthening Digital Virgo’s presence in the country. The gaming service gives subscribers access to a regularly updated catalogue spanning puzzle, action and strategy games, with instant play options that require no downloads or installations.
This launch marks a concrete step in our regional expansion, broadening the digital entertainment offer available to Maxis subscribers.
Viettel: Bringing Busuu to Users in Vietnam
We have established a new connection with Viettel, a major telecom operator in Vietnam, launching Busuu as the first service available through this partnership. The award-winning language-learning app combines interactive lessons, and personalized study plans. But also feedback from native speakers, helping users build their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Busuu is now connected in 35 countries through Digital Virgo. This launch reflects a strategic priority for 2027 for the Digital Virgo group: expanding the distribution of premium digital services across Asia. By interconnecting operator partnerships, mobile payments and local marketing expertise at the core, we support merchants like Busuu grow their international presence.
Robi: Entering Bangladesh with a First Operator Launch
The launch of CN Games with Robi marks Digital Virgo’s entry into Bangladesh. The Cartoon Network gaming service brings digital entertainment to the operator’s subscribers, while this new connection extends our geographic reach and creates opportunities to introduce additional services tailored to the local market.
Supporting Our Expansion in Asia Through Local Industry Events
These launches mark a new phase in Digital Virgo’s development in Asia, with new connections opening up opportunities across the region. Over the last couple of months, our teams have also attended key events to meet partners. But also support the next steps in our development. These conversations give us the opportunity to show how we design monetization strategies with digital payments and performance-driven marketing at the core. We combine global reach with local expertise to help partners reach new audiences and generate revenue.
GSMA M360 ASEAN: Turning Local Insight into Regional Growth
Digital Virgo’s regional team met with telecom operators, partners and technology players at GSMA M360 ASEAN in Kuala Lumpur. Discussions focused on strengthening relationships and identifying new opportunities for 2027 and beyond.
Discussions around AI, regulation and consumer protection reinforced a shared conviction: trust will determine who scales. Strong local teams, trusted partnerships and a deep understanding of each market remain essential to sustainable growth.
These priorities guide our expansion across Malaysia, Vietnam and the wider ASEAN region. We combine global expertise with local execution to help operators deliver digital experiences tailored to their markets.
Special congratulations to Frederico Rosato, Veleswaran Nallaiah, Shakib Shamsan, Thao Quach and Phuong Dang! Their energy and team spirit made a real difference at the event. It was a great opportunity to spend time together, share perspectives from our markets and meet our partners in person.
Recorded at GSMA M360 ASEAN and published by Bernama TV, this video features Frederico Rosato, VP Asia at Digital Virgo. He explains how telecom network capabilities can help fight online scams, protect transactions and build trust.
As a GSMA Open Gateway Channel Partner, Digital Virgo connects telecom operators and businesses to turn these capabilities into scalable use cases, supporting API integration, customer experience and adoption.
LEVEL UP KL: Diving into Southeast Asia’s Gaming Industry Through Innovation & Monetization Opportunities
Shakib Shamsan, our Telco Account Manager, attended LEVEL UP KL in Kuala Lumpur. He met with game developers, publishers, investors and technology partners to discuss gaming distribution and monetization across Southeast Asia.
A key takeaway: reaching new audiences requires local market knowledge, the right partners and a sustainable business model. Distribution and monetization must work together, with payment options adapted to local users.
For Digital Virgo, this means identifying partnerships with clear commercial potential, connecting gaming content providers with telecom operators and supporting monetization through mobile payments, including Direct Carrier Billing.
Next Stop: Thailand’s Gaming Ecosystem
We will attend Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show on October 29 to meet gaming publishers and potential partners. Discussions will focus on distribution, mobile payments and monetization opportunities.
