Celebrating 15 Years and Shaping the Next Chapter for Digital Virgo in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa Celebrating 15 Years and Shaping the Next Chapter for Digital Virgo in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa

This year marks a special milestone: 15 years since Digital Virgo opened its Abidjan office, the first cornerstone of our footprint in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa. From this hub, operations gradually expanded into Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, and the DRC, building a strong, resilient ecosystem led by local experts working closely with operators and partners. To honour this journey, teams from across the region joined the Abidjan office for a memorable celebration alongside key partners. It was more than an anniversary, it was a moment to look back, acknowledge collective achievements, and reaffirm an ambition: to continue shaping inclusive digital services and impactful business models for the next 15 years.

A Workshop Dedicated to Reflection, Alignment, and Future Perspectives

Ahead of the celebration, all teams took part in a three-day strategy workshop. The sessions offered an opportunity to review the past year, align on key learnings, and shape future priorities.

Looking Back on 2025 Achievements

The workshop began with a structured review of major operational moments, including:

  • Key commercial results and market performance
  • Lessons learned from actions deployed locally
  • Action-to-result evaluation for strategic initiatives

This exercise clarified what worked, what challenged markets, and what will evolve next year.

Deep-Dive Working Sessions to Build the Roadmap

The afternoons were structured into collaborative sessions where teams exchanged expertise, challenged existing approaches, and aligned future priorities across five central pillars.

Product Usage — Reinforcing Value Perception

Discussions focused on strengthening how users engage with services over time, ensuring that value is well understood and consistently delivered across markets.

Ecosystem Structuring — Building Trust-Driven Growth

Teams assessed how to continue reinforcing an ecosystem built on transparency, responsible user journeys, and close cooperation with local regulatory environments.

Mobile Money — Strengthening a Key Growth Channel

The exchange highlighted how mobile money remains a powerful accelerator of service accessibility and payment continuity, and how markets can optimise this channel further.

Bundle Offers — Enhancing Commercial Attractiveness

Workgroups explored how bundle models contribute to user retention, their positioning with telcos, and their evolution as a driver of product visibility.

Offline Distribution — Connecting Digital Services to the Field

Teams reflected on how local presence, physical touchpoints, and market education complement digital channels and reinforce adoption.

Each session provided clarity, alignment, and actionable perspectives to lead operational priorities in the coming year.

A Celebration Anchored in the Past, and Focused on the Future

The workshop concluded with a gathering bringing together colleagues and partners — a moment of connection, recognition, and projection.

From the opening of the Abidjan office 15 years ago to multi-country deployments, strategic partnerships, and impactful services delivered to millions of users, this journey represents collective commitment, resilience, and growth.

With strengthened alignment, renewed energy, and a clear ambition, teams are now ready to continue writing the next chapter.
