“The world is really moving faster and faster. We all know that. We can notice that on a daily basis. And I really, truly believe that education is an answer. So we decided to focus on that in 2025 because it’s enabled us to build tangible actions.”
Why did you launch the Positive Impact Program at Digital Virgo?
This program is very important for me. I launched this program because I truly believe that our role goes far beyond business. Digital value is not just making more money, or just building growth, or developing a project… Of course, it’s very important, but it’s not only about that. It also relates to the way we do it and the value we hold as a group.
Digital Virgo operates in a highly diverse environment. We have environmental challenges, as well as social and local. And in this program, we have the responsibility and the opportunity to impact, to act. Not only to speak, but to act on the ground in each country where we are. And it’s, of course, a long-term commitment.
Why is education the key theme for 2025?
Education, for me, is universal and is very important. It concerns everyone here in France, but also in Poland, in Africa -Ivory Coast, Nigeria, South Africa – and Argentina. Really, everyone, and education is also one of the more powerful levers to build a fairer society. It drives autonomy, innovation, and a sustainable environment.
“We have the responsibility and the opportunity to impact, to act. Not only to speak, but to act on the ground in each country where we are.”
What do the positive impact actions look like in practice?
The real keyword is: Empowerment. It’s all about methodology. And each local team has to identify the most relevant action locally on the ground. It’s not just about giving money. It can go from supporting local schools, donating learning materials, or organizing mentorships. It can concern kids of five, six, 11, and 20 years old. It’s not necessarily high-profile actions, but the key is really the commitment of our teams on the ground. I really want to emphasize that that’s what makes them meaningful.
How does the positive impact program align with the group’s overall strategy?
As I mentioned previously, and it’s very important, this is not a program that we are doing on the side. It’s really a part of who we are. It’s part of our core DNA and of the strategy. We are acting in a Glocal way, meaning that we are acting locally, but always with a global vision.
Finally, we don’t see economic performance as the opposite of social responsibility. We really believe that it can work hand in hand, even if we remain pragmatic in the way we are doing it. But we truly believe there is a way to find and to associate these two key things of economic performance and social responsibility.
“Positive Impact is not something we do on the side — it’s part of our DNA, part of who we are.”
What is your personal role in the Positive Impact program?
As you can imagine, I’m personally very involved in this program. And I make sure that it remains a high priority and that this program remains visible and consistent on a daily basis. But above all, I believe in collective energy. What moves me most is when I see how engaged the teams are. I was so happy when I had the occasion a couple of months ago to go to Abidjan and to see the involvement of all the teams locally. And also when I was in Brazil, I had the feedback from Marco Barbaceli, telling me how proud he was to work for Digital Virgo, and that Digital Virgo was special. So, of course, this brings me a lot of energy, and my role is to give back that energy to support and to structure.
Do you have anything else you want to say about the Positive Impact program?
There is still a lot to do. Of course, it’s the first thing. But we are moving forward, step by step, with humility. But it’s alive. It evolves. It grows. Every year we are improving things. And step by step, this program is growing, and it’s great to see that.
I’m really proud that Digital Virgo is committing to these meaningful causes. And I truly believe that focusing on education in 2025 is one of the most powerful paths we can take together. Because it’s not only about knowledge; education is also about soft skills, it’s curiosity, it’s the ability to think, it’s adaptability, it’s tolerance, it’s capacity. And all this, of course, has a huge impact on the future of society and on Digital Virgo itself.
“Economic performance and social responsibility can work hand in hand.”
Do you have anything else to say to the teams behind the Positive Impact Program?
First of all, I would like to thank you, Amaranta, for this initiative and the visibility you give to this program that I mentioned is very important to me and to the company.
I, of course, would also like to take the occasion to thank a lot and give a special thanks to Marion Hyvernat, who is leading this program and who is highly committed daily to making this program grow.
And of course, a big thanks to all the teams on the ground everywhere around the world who are involved and who participate daily to make this program grow, step by step, but in a long-term perspective.
